Your Data, Your Choice
We respect your right to control your personal information. This page explains what happens when you ask us to delete your data, what gets removed, what we’re required to keep, and how to make the request.
How to Request Deletion
You have two options:
- From the App (fastest): Open True Talk → Settings → Account → Delete My Account. Confirm the request and you’re done.
- By Email: Send a request to privacy@truetalkapp.com with the subject “Delete My Data Request” from the email address associated with your True Talk account. We’ll confirm receipt within 48 hours and verify your identity before processing.
What Gets Deleted
- Your account information (email, name, password hash, sign-in method).
- Profile and preferences.
- Saved game progress, favorites, and session history.
- AI Advisor conversation history.
- App settings and personalization data.
- Push-notification tokens and device-association records.
- Support conversation history (unless an active dispute requires us to retain it).
What Happens Next
- Your account is deactivated immediately and you’ll be signed out of all devices.
- You receive a confirmation email.
- Your personal data is permanently deleted from our active systems within 30 days.
- Routine database backups are purged on our normal rotation schedule (typically within 90 days).
- You can create a new account at any time — it will start fresh, with no connection to your old one.
What We’re Required to Keep
Some information may be retained for as long as legally required, even after you’ve asked us to delete your account. This is limited to:
- Records we must keep for tax, accounting, or financial-regulation purposes (e.g. payment receipts).
- Records needed to comply with a subpoena, court order, or legal investigation.
- Records needed to defend against or pursue legal claims.
- Anonymous, aggregated analytics data that can no longer be linked back to you.
- Information necessary to prevent fraud or abuse (such as a record that an account at this email was previously banned).
We retain such information only for as long as necessary, and we never sell it.
App Store and Google Play Accounts
Deleting your True Talk account does not automatically:
- Cancel any subscription — you must cancel through your Apple ID or Google Play settings.
- Delete True Talk from your device — uninstall the App separately if you wish.
- Remove records held by Apple or Google about purchases made on their platforms.
Before You Go
- This action is irreversible. We can’t restore deleted data.
- You’ll lose all saved games, favorites, and AI Advisor history.
- Consider exporting any data you want to keep first — just email privacy@truetalkapp.com for a copy.
- If something specific made you want to leave, we’d genuinely love to hear it. Your feedback helps us improve.
